How Weapons Differ
Each weapon changes combat in its own way. An independent Steam review of the Demo reports that weapon effects differ. The official press kit presents equipment combinations as a design feature.
Since every attack comes from a poker hand on the grid, a weapon shapes what those hands do. Read the weapon's description before a run. It tells you which hands or conditions it rewards.
How Many Weapons Are in the Demo
The official Steam Demo listing advertises more than ten weapons. The developer's itch.io page repeats that count. Because it shares copy with Steam, it is the same claim, not a separate check.
That number only covers the Demo. The full game's total has not been announced in the sources we checked. We will update this page when the Early Access version can be counted.
What the Official Screenshots Show
One official screenshot shows a weapon selection list beside a hand-ranking table. The list includes items labelled Featherweight Fist, Trash Can Lid, Fork, Plank, Boxing Gloves and Frying Pan, with the Fork and Plank shown as locked. The panel next to it lists poker hands, starting from one pair.
This confirms that weapons are tied to hand rankings in that build. It does not confirm the values in the table for the current version. Read the in-game screen for numbers rather than this description.
How to Unlock More Weapons
The earlier “New Rules in the City” devlog describes weapon-unlock progress notifications. These tell you when you are moving toward a new weapon. They do not list every unlock condition.
An official screenshot also shows a vendor offering a New Weapon option. That suggests progression shops can be involved in some builds. Exact challenge thresholds and prices have not been cross-verified.
Weapons and Pre-Run Loadouts
The September 9, 2026 playtest added pre-run loadouts and changed equipment. That means you may choose some equipment before a run starts in newer builds. Weapon values from older builds may no longer apply.
Treat any old weapon stats with care. A weapon that was strong in the earlier Demo may have been changed. Check the tooltip in your version.
Choosing a Weapon
Without verified rankings, pick a weapon that matches how you like to build hands. If you complete flushes often, look for a weapon that rewards them. If you prefer a different hand, choose accordingly.
- Read which hands or conditions the weapon rewards.
- Check whether your trinkets support the same hands.
- Try each weapon for a few runs before judging it.
- Note the game version when you record results.
Weapons in a Build
A weapon works best with trinkets and tricks that point the same way. Trinkets add passive effects from slot machines. Tricks let you change cards, such as their suits, to complete the hands your weapon rewards.
Our best builds page explains how to judge these combinations. The trinkets and tricks pages cover the other pieces. Read them together to see how the pieces connect.
What Is Still Unknown
No complete weapon table, damage values, prices or exact unlock thresholds have been cross-verified. A current best weapon has not been established either. Weapon changes in the September test make older values unreliable.
We will publish a comparison once current tooltips can be checked in the Early Access build. Every entry will show its version. Until then, rely on what the game shows you.
Weapons Seen in Official Screenshots
The weapon selection screenshot gives a useful snapshot of the variety. The names suggest everyday objects used as improvised weapons, which fits the game's crime story. Featherweight Fist, Trash Can Lid and Boxing Gloves are shown as available, with Fork and Plank shown as locked.
Frying Pan is also visible at the bottom of the list. A real comparison needs current tooltips, which the image does not provide. Treat these names as examples from the build shown, not a full list.
Weapons Across the Timeline
The earlier devlog introduced weapon-unlock progress notifications. A June 2026 Demo review reported that weapon effects differ. The September 2026 playtest then added pre-run loadouts and changed equipment.
Each stage may have different weapon values. Note the date of any weapon advice you read. The Early Access version is planned for October 30, 2026.
Weapons and Poker Hands
Every attack starts with a completed poker hand on the 5-by-5 grid. Your weapon shapes what that attack does. The weapon screen in official screenshots shows a hand-ranking panel next to each weapon.
That suggests each weapon treats hands in its own way in the build shown. Read the panel in your version to see which hands your weapon favours. Then plan your placements around those hands.
Testing a New Weapon
When you unlock a weapon, give it a fair trial before judging it. Play at least a few runs with it and keep your other choices similar. That way you can tell whether the weapon made the difference.
Write down the version, the floor and the result each time. Compare it with your notes on other weapons. Over time you will see which weapons suit your style.
